Archie Rose
Hello, I am Archie. I am 9 and the youngest member of the CLAPA council.
I was born with a Unilateral Cleft Lip & Palate. My first operation, on my lip, was in 2003, I was 5 weeks old. Mr Freedlander fixed it. Then in 2004 I had my palate repaired by Mr Freedlander again. In 2012 I will have my Alveolar Bone Graft done; I feel a little bit nervous, but I have talked to some people on the CLAPA Council that have already had the same thing and they said it was fine.
Things I like and like to do - drawing, especially drawing pictures of Spiderman and Marvel Comics, I also like Manga & Animé One thing I like is films that are a bit scary but funny like Men in Black. Actors I like are Toby Maguire, Hugh Jackman, Jk Simmons and the two partners in Men in Black – Will Smith & Tommy Lee Jones. I like going on big bike rides with my Dad, brother and me (the bike ride is at least 17 miles!)
Music – I like Led Zeppelin, Lady Gaga, White Stripes, Katy Perry, Iron Maiden & Sara Colman. (Google her, she’s actually my auntie!)
I live with my brother Charlie and my mummy in North Derbyshire, so when we have to go to a CLAPA meeting it takes a bit of time.

Joining the council
If you would like to become a council member and you are aged between nine and seventeen years old all you have to do is fill out the three-paged application form and send it back to Claire at CLAPA saying why you would like to be involved.
Once Claire has received the completed application form she will take it to the next meeting of the council for the members to see. A decision will be made after that time. The council would really like some new members so please do apply.
