to tom just to say i had my bone grapht done a few weeks ago and im perfectly fine. you might see a little lump on your hip but it will gently go away. just to say please dont be sad as you will will feel perfectly fine 3 weeks after. i will tell you a joke that will make you laugh. as soon as i came back from operating theartre do you know what i did? i asked for some thing to eat. all i got was a bowl of rice but i supose its better than nothing lol!!:)

Hi everyone! i just had my 1st bone graph and can i just just want to say it wasn't as bad as i thought it was. i spent the night at the hospital that wasn't as bad but mind you i never got some sleep lol!!!!! smile if anyone is scared about their bonegraph just ask dr clip and he wil tell you everything your worried about. by the way im ten and i had it done. my dad had it done when he was eighteen. thats so unfair!!:( goodluck!:)

Hi ! i am 11 and i have had 2 operations over cleft lip the first one was when i was very little and i cannot remember it. However, i do remember my second operation when i was nine it was my bone graph. First you cannot eat 12 hours before the operation. The operation lasts about 3-4 hours. When you wake up you will feel pain in your hip and that is normal, it will where off in about 5 days. At first you are only aloud to eat liquidised foods which was hard for me cause i am fussy. i must of ate like just pasta and yoghurt. lol smile xxxx

The thought of spending time away from your parents for the first time can be a little scary but you will make friends in no time at all. Hi Jaimee, Thanks for your post. I'm afraid the council is only open to young people born with a cleft lip and/or palate at this time. There are lots of other ways you can get involved though by attending family days or activities at your local branch like their Christmas party. We love your article in left clip! I agree with you Clare there are brill ways to stop bullying (you rock girl!). Britany, here's some advice althouth I have NOT got a cleft lip or palate I would say just walk away and ignore. Tell your mum or dad brother or sister,aunt,uncle,gran,grandpa or teacher. Just keep saying to yourself "I can get through this I can!!!" Also just carry on with life dont let it get you down you should like school not hate it(sorry if you do hate it without the bullies). Remember the bullies were probably bullied as well so please don't let them take over you as you may also in a few years time become a bully. Dear clapa kidz, I have just had a bone graft at Leeds General Infirmary and my surgeon was Mr Smyth. He has done a great job! My hip is a lot better and stopped hurting after about ten days after wards! A nurse called Emma took my stitch in my hip out on Wednesday and i just have a scar which will fade in time! I am clapa kidz number one fan! Don't worry about your operation. The doctors and nurses are fab.

I was a born with a cleft palate and I feel left out with loads of things I can't do and it is also quite painful sometimes and I really don't like it and I sometimes get very frustrated.
